The Racing To Rio team is buzzing with excitement as we grow closer and closer to finally beginning filming this important work. There are many last minute details to attend to before we can actually get off the ground but the skies are clear and we are more than confident that we are ready to begin the main stretch of this fantastic journey.
Racing To Rio’s one ever present hurdle however is money, we are working our best to fulfill this vision in spite of financial constraints, so please remember that donations are always greatly appreciated. Every donation lessens our burden and makes it that much easier to bring you the incredible story of Brad Kendell!
Filming begins Oct. 23rd

The Barbaro-Gould Foundation is a local not for profit for the arts charity that works to facilitate the global exchange of arts and culture. Jen Barbaro and Todd Gould have years of experience working in the arts and are currently using their talents to head the local film Racing To Rio. The film strives to highlight the heroes of the Paralympic sailing world, and showcase the positive influence that sailing programs can have on the disabled and challenged community. The film will also highlight the Clearwater area as a premier destination for Paralympic sailing and follow the journey of one sailor Brad Kendell as he goes to compete in the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro 2016.
I am proud to be working on a film that has the capacity to touch so many people and spotlight such important works in the area. I have learned so much about the work of people like Brad Kendell and Jen French and all that they have done and continue to do to help those with disabilities and I hope that soon everyone else will be able to share in all the great, supportive messages this film has to offer.

Racing to Rio is far more than the journey of a few elite athletes striving for world records, gold medals and personal bests. Racing to Rio is the story of transformation from individuals overcoming personal challenges to become world-class sailors and heroes who inspire others to face their challenges and live life to the fullest through the sport of sailing. Racing to Rio is literally about Brad Kendell's journey to the Paralympics in Rio 2016, but also serves on a larger scale as a metaphor for all people who face challenges and how they can take on life to win their own "races" by being the best they can be.
